When Does a Plumbing Problem Become an Emergency?
Dec 10, 2022

There are all sorts of plumbing problems that can arise in your home, from a dripping tap to a clogged-up pipe. At Walker Assured Plumbing, we offer emergency plumbing services to ensure that all your plumbing problems can be mended quickly. However, it can be hard to tell when a plumbing problem can wait, or when it needs to be fixed urgently. If you live in the Campbelltown area, read on to find out which plumbing problems require urgent care, and which ones can be put on the backburner.

What isn’t a plumbing emergency?

  1. A dripping tap. A dripping tap can be seriously annoying. Not only that, but it can increase the amount of water that your house is using, leading to water waste AND higher bills. However, it’s not a danger to your safety, as irritating as it may be. Getting a dripping tap sorted shouldn’t take too long - call us to arrange an appointment, and enjoy a leak-free tap again.
  2. A weak shower head. Nobody likes getting in the shower for a good scrub, only to find that the water pressure in your shower is suboptimal. We all prefer a jet stream to a weak sprinkle! The problem could lie within an old, inefficient shower head or a problem with your water heater. Either way, it’s most likely a simple fix - and we can certainly help!
  3. A slightly clogged toilet. Is your loo backed up? A lot of the time, sticking a plunger into your toilet bowl and giving it a few good pulls is enough to fix the blockage. However, if a plunger just isn’t doing the trick, and the blockage is looking serious, this is where Walker Assured Plumbing comes in handy.

If you’re experiencing any of these problems, call us straight away!

  1. A clogged drain or toilet that just won’t budge. If a plunger won’t do the trick, and you suspect a serious blockage, call us. It could be a build-up of hair, toilet paper, baby wipes - even soap scum can amass over time and cause blockages in your drains. You’ll want this sorted out quickly!
  2. A gas leak. This is definitely an emergency! Gas leaks are dangerous for your health, and the health of your loved ones and pets. It’s also a major fire hazard. If you can smell gas, feel lightheaded or dizzy, nauseous or generally unwell, make sure you’re out of the house, then call us as soon as possible.
  3. A sewerage leak. Not only are these horrendous to deal with, but sewerage also poses a serious threat to your wellbeing. Don’t risk damage to your home or health - call us right away.
  4. A burst pipe or waterline. This is also a major risk to your property. Not only can this lead to flood damage, but it can also lead to water pooling around electrical outlets, which is a serious problem. Like a gas or sewerage leak, it could lead to significant consequences - and you could run the risk of electrocution.

Don’t delay - call us today on 0437 888 845. We’re available 24 hours, 7 days a week - offering a $0 callout fee from 8am to 4pm every day. Fixing your urgent plumbing problems isn’t assured unless it’s Walker Assured.
